From prehistoric times up to the present day there have been, in our country, two principal kinds of playthings. Some of them were, from the beginning, children’s toys, such as: small vessels, balls, sticks, rattles (found in children’s tombs), dolls etc. whereas those belonging to the second group had originally a magic or some other religious function. With the development of the society and technical progress the latter
lost their primitive significance and kept up their form being reduced thus to mere children’s toys.
