This carefully documented handbook by the Curators of the Toy Collection of The Museum of the City of New York will be of great interest to all doll and toy fanciers. It is a deligthful and at the same time a meticulously accurate survey of the history of dolls from the charming and elegant wax and wood examples of the 18th century and the great variety that commences in the 19th century to contemporary collectible items. Many of the lovely and exeptional dolls have not been illustrated in previous books.
